What is the world coming to? You can't even score a cheap laugh, with photographs of hot women in a tech demo these days. Jay Bhatti, doing a lightning demo of Spock's people directory at this week's Web 2.0 Expo, livened up the largely male audience by displaying a search for Victoria's Secret models. But tech conferences aren't quite as male as they once were. Shuba, from the Systers group of women in technology, writes: "The women standing next to me were disgusted, and walked out literally calling him an idiot... On the one hand, we are worried about hate crimes against women bloggers and here is a guy who searches for swimsuit models at the big launching event for his company at a tech conference! Wow, how dense can he get?"
