So Apple's holding a special event. (A real one this time, presumably sans Bono.) They promise "fun new products" — hopefully not a new iPod, because we just bought ours, dammit.

Unlike usual Apple announcements, there's no hint of what's coming out. The Apple rumor sites are guessing touch-screen iPods or new iBooks.

But the lack of a hint is a dead give-away: Steve Jobs is putting out something entirely different. He must hope everyone forgot about the Segway so he can re-release it with Intel chips. His reality distortion field should make that feasible, right?
