Forbes's Midas List ranks "the best dealmakers in high-tech and life sciences." Predictable names at the top of the list of 25: venture capitalist John Doerr and pretty much anyone else who got into Google early enough. But enough celebration of the Google effect. What of all the people who've been knocked down the Silicon Valley pecking order? Sixteen who made the list last year are relegated, including, poignantly, Vinod Khosla, Doerr's former colleague at Kleiner Perkins.
