New York City Has Tallest Building, Is The Best At Everything

This is all thanks to a panel of architects who decided to get together for what I presume is a morning of free coffee and muffins and gabbing about buildings like they're back in school. The group decided that a spire, like the one you find on top of 1 WTC, is unlike a simple antenna in that it is an intended architectural element, and not just a functional piece of wire sticking out of the top of the building.

The spire will function as an antenna, however, and there will be broadcasting equipment installed at its base.

Chicago – just be yourself and stop trying so hard.
