February 3, 2012 – Is it Friday already? We know it is because we have an extremely advanced sun dial here in the office, and also because you can only hear the word "cunt" so many times before you know in your heart that the week is finally over.

I don't know what was just said, seriously.
Oh, and SGK? FUCK YOU! REALLY, FUCK YOU! YOU STILL SUCK. OH, AND FIRE THAT TEA BAGGER. THAT SHE'S STILL THERE IS MAKING YOU LOOK JUST AS SHITTY AS YOU DID WHEN YOUR STUPID DECISION WAS MADE. #crosstalk

(Edit comment)The strongest advocates of the pro-life movement are always proving that they aren't actually pro-life at all, and on top of that they don't understand how contraception works. Plan B is not an abortifacent.
They don't care about facts though, just about their fairy tales and their absurd sense of holy superiority. #crosstalk
(Edit comment)Then there's that guy Eric Dunham, who got to comment on that article and I'm very jealous of that, who kept chastising people for "criticizing" Elise after she's "just been through hell". I am sure that Elise Hilton was very worried about her daughter, but I'm similarly sure that her daughter had a worse couple of days. To put it almost too mildly.
I spend most of my life in a perpetual state of outrage, but if I could shit on this woman's face it still wouldn't exactly express just how outraged I am feeling right now. #crosstalk

(Edit comment)"The only way I can make sense of it is that they think they're responsible for the salvation of every single person on the planet"
Actually, I think they just want everyone to tell them they're right and wonderful. Most of those folks I've encountered couldn't give a flying fuck about anyone else's well-being. #crosstalk
(Edit comment)I think it makes sense to be against things because of your religion. I, for example, would not have an abortion because of my religious beliefs. I am also against the death penalty because of my religion. Faith transcends law in my case - even though things are legal in a secular sense, they are prohibited by my faith.
But like you said, I recognize that not everyone shares my religious beliefs or even believes in God, which is why law should remain secular in its basis. The following of a religion and its mandates is a personal choice and cannot be legislated. #crosstalk
(Edit comment)The Chicago Morgue: No Vacancy

If you haven't already watched this, you should. And as a side note, it isn't gruesome. It's about the industry, the limitations and lack of funding and regulation, as opposed to viewing the art of autopsy.
POST MORTEM
(Edit comment)[to.pbs.org]
#crosstalk
That's one of the most frustrating parts of the story. It sounds like Chicago's had a lot of problems, so clearly there is more going on, but you can never disregard the lack of funding as a significant contributor to the problem. The morgue is probably one of the poster children for "publicly funded services that you take for granted until things stop running smoothly."
ETA: and I'll mention it to him. :) He really, really keeps work pretty separate, so I may have to fly solo watching it, but I'll let you know when I do!
(Edit comment)Yep. Lack of state funding. This state is so damn broke it isn't even funny. I pay a 12% combined sales tax in Chicago, and wonder where all the money goes.
It is great that we have new leadership here at the city and county level in terms of Emanuel and Preckwinkle, but right now we are in the discovery phase about how bad things have become. #crosstalk

Aokigahara Forest, Japan
Authorities are stumped.
Some say that the trees themselves are filled with a malevolent energy, and have a trunk with people who have gone against their grain, accumulated from centuries of suicides.
It seems they don’t want you to leaf but to permanently stick around, remaining rooted in place forever.
