House Candidate Celebrates MLK Day By Calling for Obama to Be HangedS

Joshua Black is a Republican ex-street preacher running for a Tampa Bay-area seat in the Florida House. He loves to tweet and Facebook about his fantasy of executing the president for treason. With a noose, of course.

In between retweets of Dana Loesch and and Breitbart News, Black's official campaign Twitter got behind a plan by one of his followers yesterday:

When prompted to articulate his views, Black said, yeah, sure!

As word of his sentiments got out, Black amplified this point to his followers on Facebook: Barack Obama is a traitor, and we hang traitors, don't we?

This would be exactly what the President has done to others, and, as Jesus said, "the measure ye mete, it shall be meted to you again." I make no apologies for saying that the President is not above the People. If ordinary Americans should be executed for treason, so should he.

So, don't stop at impeachment. Remove him. Try him before a jury (the very right that he arbitrarily denied to al-Awaki and his 15-year-old son), and, upon his sure convictions, execute him. Thus has he done, thus it should be done to him.

Three observations should be made at this point. First: al-Awlaki. If you're going to concern-troll a dead man, spell his name right. Second: Citing the words of Jesus Christ, arguably the most famous condemned man in human history, as a justification for execution is... interesting. Third: Benedict Arnold was not executed by the United States for treason. He was given safe passage to England and lived out his days there, dying of gout at age 60.

But hey, when you're on a roll, you know.

Who is Black, anyway? Here's how the Tampa Bay Times describes him:

Black, 31, of Pinellas Park moved to Florida in 2007 after practicing street evangelism in St. Louis and works as a taxi driver. According to his campaign website, Black entered politics in 2012 when he tried influencing the presidential primary.

The website says: "Republicans have a serious communication problem. Everything we say sounds like spears.

And, just in case you missed it up above, here's how a moderate Republican running for a seat in the next House district over from Black describes him:
