But you'll get no argument from me about Carrie Prejean, whose words and behavior were the creepiest, most sickening spectacle I can recall from all my years of watching Larry King's shows. One more smarmy "inappropriate" out of her mouth might have had me running for the porcelain bus.

CNN's down-the-middle tightrope act often spawns sideshows that perform a needed service by deftly luring right-wingers into making asses of themselves. Unfortunately I'm not sure the Prejean travesty rises to that level. Most viewers not already horrified by this "monster" (Richard Lawson's perfect epithet) probably thought Larry was owned. As hard-boiled as LK is, I'm guessing he has regrets about this one. He is above all a storyteller, and I can understand why he decided to gamble on Carrie Prejean, but in hindsight it's painfully clear he shouldn't have allowed himself to be part of this particular book tour.

1. She WAS shot without firing her gun. That's been the story from day one -- She got shot, fell to the ground and then proceeded shoot Hasan. That's what makes it so heroic. Not sure why Ravi wrote it the way she did.

2. I find it odd that Todd claims he just happened to turn the corner to find Hasan trying to reload. Hasan got off over 100 shots before he was killed and this guy just happened to turn the corner without knowing what was going on? He would have heard the shots before turning the corner. I call bullshit.

The only thing that would make sense is if he was taking cover behind the corner, but if that was the case, it would have been told as if he waited for the right time to fire or something along those lines. If he did indeed do what he says, he's embellishing at best, and he aided in helping take down Hasan. But I call hogwash!
