Jane had so much potential! As someone who was too young for Sassy, I appreciated Jane as the only solace in endless racks of Cosmo, Glamour, Lucky, Marie Claire, and their ilk. Bitch and Bust are excellent, but they're not exactly light reading, they definitely don't catch those gotta-hear-'em bands that Jane occasionally did, and they lack the Conde-Nast production values that make for gorgeous photographs and a visually interesting layout. I'll miss Jane.

@Schadenfrau: agreed! Bitch and Bust are ridiculous... and I don't see the connection in comparing them to Jane. Jane is nothing more than a girly fashion magazine and Bitch and Bust are for those who think reading dildo reviews will open their inner punk/riot grrrlness.

In a moment of weakness a couple years ago, I subscribed (ten dollars!) and regretted it ever since. I got a notice in the mail a couple days ago that they'd automatically sign me up for another year unless I CALLED them and canceled. I hate calling customer service for any reason. I gritted my teeth and called and canceled. Now I realize that was superfluous. Damn you Jane magazine and your timing!!

God, the more I think about it, the more I realize how much "Jane" actually annoyed me.

If the elimination of "Jane" sends more subscribers to "Bust" and "Bitch," good. They're better magazines.
