]]> <![CDATA['Wall Street Journal' To End Pursuits]]> Typical of the way things are done here at WSJ...they hire a separate staff of young college graduates to man Pursuits when they have a perfectly capable (and underworked) staff producing the Weekend section....For that matter, they have about 20-30 people whose sole job it is to write two or three big stories a year, and not do anything else....Is this what Rupert wants his $$ spent on? This is sure to be the first of many foldings, trims and cutbacks to get the place running like an actual for-profit enterprise - that's what happens when people who know how to run a business get their hands on a place where no one knows how one is run.
