ADM, The "bit where he mimics Tracy" is definitely not dubbed. You should have seen him on Inside The Actor's Studio. He did a perfect Tracy. He was unbelievably awesome. I am SO glad they did an episode that really showed his gift for doing impressions. This man is just wonderful.

And TUFFGIRL, I totally agree. He IS getting hotter with age. I'm pretty sure he's getting exponentially hotter each year. He may need to be greeted by a firehose on his fiftieth birthday just to protect innocent bystanders.

I am personally still recovering from the summer "replacement" shows in the season opener, "Americas Next Top Pirate and Are you Stronger Than a Dog".

PS, not to brag, but I have been in love with Alec Baldwin since I made my mom take me into the city to see him and Mary Lousie Parker in Prelude to a Kiss OFF Broadway, before it moved on Broadway. We have family in Massapequa and I always secretly hoped I would run into him and we would be married. He should have married me! I would have made him happy, I just know it!!!

But maybe his personal turmoil is what makes him so damn brilliant!

i think you can hear his tony bennett impersonation mixed in with his "tracy's dad" impression. also, since no one else mentioned it: i think the bit where he mimics tracy is dubbed. i think they also did this in the first season when one of the other characters had to impersonate tracy.

Alec Baldwin is a fabulous talent! The guy doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves. Watching him work when he does bits like Actors Studio is pure pleasure. He's a genius on 30Rock.

If you miss any 30Rock episodes, just go to the show's website. You can watch all the full episodes there. Same with his Actors Studio visit recently. Some nice bits on Youtube as well. There is a fab one of him with Paul McCartney rehearsing a promo for SNL a few years back that gives an interesting insight into how he works in front of the camera.

Frankly, if it weren't for Tinsel Town politics, the guy should have had at least one Oscar and Emmys, Tonys, GG's, etc. up the ying yang by now.

also, i love how the show references itself even. like a few weeks ago when jerry seinfeld went on the show where the character of himself was going on the show in a deal where nbc gets him for ratings and he gets them to give him free airtime to promote his movie, which is basically what happened to get him on 30 rock in the first place.

also, this week carrie fisher's character was urging liz lemon (tina fey) to get racey, literally, with the content of the show. the show within the show didn't deal with racey race issues, but the show itself did some borderline stuff, like the above.
