The old miser is visited by his dead partner and 3 spirits who show him his past, present and future. The old man changes his ways, buys a big fat goose stuffed with spinach brownies, pays for the medical treatment that saves the boy, who is called Little Tom, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Jerry is thinking of optioning the book for an animated movie (working title: "A Christmas Song") so that he can star as the old man and Jessica can play the miser's former fiancée who dumped him for a man with a bigger credit line.

So sad for you that not everyone hates the people you hate. You seem to need medication to deal with that harsh reality. But you can say the same about every despicable person (and behavior): there are many cheaters, thieves, murderers, and child molesters in the world. By what warped logic does "not being the only one" make that behavior defensible?

We are criticizing her exactly because her behavior is contemptible, not because it "hits too close to home," as you so ridiculously assume. I think it's the people defending her, who don't see "what the big deal is" about her marrying a guy for money, cheating on him after the honeymoon, dumping him for a richer guy, and plagiarizing a book, who need to have their morals checked -- or at least join the Republican Party, where they probably have a brilliant future.

And you're also wrong to assume that the proceeds of the book go to charity. Jessica said "a portion" of the royalties go to charity -- which could mean as little as 0.001 percent, but not as much as 100 percent. If you have any doubts regarding the meaning of "portion," I suggest you consult a dictionary.

I know a guy right now--hanging out with some divorced high maintenance nightmare who

They hooked up about five minutes after his divorce was final and it's just a disaster waiting to happen. I feel for the guy, but he's gonna get what he deserves unless he wakes the *&^% up.
