Discussion forums such as Gawker won't be running 5,000-word features any time soon, nor giving writers weeks to investigate. Nor giving writers hours to investigate. Or even minutes. In fact, just forget we mentioned investigating or features or anything.

You should have some (but not too much!) journalism experience. Not because you'll actually be doing any journalism -- can you name one story Gawker Media broke this year, off the top of your head? -- but so we can be assured you'll work cheap. And to maintain the sort of buzz you just don't get by admitting you're basically a chat site.

We'd offer you a big salary but then you won't work hard. Or well. You lazy, incompetent chimpanze.

Instead, we'll be needing full access to your checking account. When traffic goes up, money is deposited. When traffic goes down, money is withdrawn. When traffic is flat, no more alcohol.
