The criticism was that it's not nice for girls in their 20's to call attention to single women in their 30's for being old, trying to put on a brave (fun!!) face and coming across a little desperate. Someone else suggested that Emily's use of the term might be apotropaic, and it was such a perfect idea. I had to keep that phone ringing.

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
