The New Yorker piece on Hillary this week -- which I finally got around to reading -- is one of the bigger travesties in the history of the magazine.

Don't care if you buy into it... just want to say that Obama Cannot win. And that any vote for him is a vote misspent. Those of you who disagree are entitled to your opinions. This is (Stlll?) America.

But I believe you are wrong. I am not a shill for Hillary. (Not even close.) Just don't think anyone else can beat the GOP.

Remember: they know how to fight dirty. (And believe in it too). They aren't stupid, just supremely twisted...

Let's hope you're right: I'll hold my nose and vote for the Oreo, if I have to. But doubt it will do any good --

It's not as though millions of American Jews have been clutching their haggadot and seething, "THAT DEBATE IS GOING TO RUIN OUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY!!"

Jews generally don't expect non-Jews to pay close attention to when Jewish holidays fall because the Hebrew calendar is weird and complicated and even gets an "intercalary lunar month" added every few years. (Then there's always the added nightmare of explaining that the Jewish "day" actually begins at nightfall. For an extra-special bonus nightmare there's trying to explain that some Jewish holidays are celebrated for two days in the Diaspora and only one day in Israel, but that some Diaspora Jews also celebrate them for only one day.)

But since HRC has started this, we might has well start taking a hard look at whether any other minor political events are gonna put a damper on Succos, Purim, Tu B'Shvat, or Shemini Atzeret.
