Maybe that was just a bad year. As a matter of fact, it seemed that only about 40% went to the Ivy's and their equivalents, like Williams or Stanford. I suppose 40% is a lot anyway. Only about 15% of Bronx Science and 20% of Stuyvesant -- I think? -- attend the best colleges.

Her much older husband went to CCNY, and I'm not sure he even graduated. That said, he's certainly successful, so good for him. He had to work twice as hard. As to the commenter above who said, "Nobody from Horace Mann goes to Fordham and Brandeis," well, that just isn't true. Maybe the best students don't, or those who are extremely well connected with flush parents, but plenty of Horace Mann graduates go to schools considered much worse than Brandeis, which is pretty good in my estimation: Indiana University, Wisconsin, Loyola, Skidmore are some destinations.

In my graduating class I think eleven people went to Yale, five to Harvard, three to Dartmouth, seven (?) to UPenn, four to Brown, an untold number to Cornell, and plenty to WashU, Northwestern, Duke, UChicago, etc., with a healthy number going to Ivy equivalents like Stanford and MIT.

Besides, basically everyone ends up transferring to Ivies later.
