In my opinion, if one of your students is capable of that level of plagiarism, that's grounds for expulsion. Seriously, how do you know she wouldn't do that on term papers, etc?
Akash however didn't ever plagiarize and his work was naturally and innnately brilliant.
I'm not defending him, but just saying that throwing him in jail isn't the best option.

I think the YALE administration has their head way up their asses because they don't know what the hell to do to look good in the media. They could care less about what happens to AKASH, they just want it to go away.
Seriously, Yale is like a big business and they only want their name mentioned in the media when it's good PR- like low acceptance rates! top rate professors! great research labs!

With this case, they don't know what the hell to do but they are still making the wrong choices.
