]]> <![CDATA[74 Reasons to Hate TMZ]]> Back when Bebe Daniels and I were speaking, and this would have been after she appeared in Wild Wild Susan but before she starred in Registered Nurse, we'd invariably meet on Friday nights at the Brown Derby for Cobb salad and a slice of that exquisite chiffon cake that Harry Baker had just invented.

Anyway, Bebe had a raging terror of aging although when she was even at her most haggard, the poor soul never looked a day over thirteen. So, one night at the Derby, Bebe confessed that she owed her youthful appearance to a series of cat-placenta extract injections that a Dr. Delgado in Los Feliz gave her bi-monthly for any absolutely unbelievable sum.

I of course wanted to dismiss this as crackpot, a sham, but I couldn't deny what I saw with my own eyes. The cat-placenta extract clearly worked wonders.

The amazing finale of this story is that years later Bebe's very own Dr. Delgado made national news when the FBI arrested him for doing all those cat mind-control experiments for the Russians. Well, quite a few wags around town insisted the Delgado scandal was what drove Bebe to London, where she basically lived in exile until her death.
