I'm not sure what the legal definition of happy hour is, but when i lived in boston I definitely ended up at a few bars that offered cheap-o drinks and appetizers between 5-7. Speakeasies maybe??

That's retarded. I live in Boston, and it does NOT cause alcohol consumption. Little known fact: If you order a bottle and don't finish it they will, upon request, seal it with tape, write your name on it, and you can come back and finish it at a later date. It happened to me and a friend not so long ago when, because of reasons that are not relevant, had to leave the establishment earlier than expected.

@the supergoddess: Happy Hour was banned in Boston and the rest of the wonderful state back in 1984. Dukakis was governer at the time but Romney can be blamed for a lot of other things though.
