Good heavens, how cheesy things have gotten in my absence. I dined on cecina (veal, cured like ham, in gossamer thin slices, dressed with olive oil and chopped almonds).Washed down with lots of white Rueda wine. Spanish food is why I stay here, despite the dismal job and dating market. Though we've got great cheeses too. And roasted baby goat is one of my favorite local dishes.Oh, and Barça tied the game. I'm birdwatching with the cats and dogs. We have many varieties here --of birds -- including woodpeckers, gold finches, blue jays, cardinals, etc. (The kitties are only allowed to watch with me, not go outside and hunt them. Sometimes this pisses them off.)

Madrileños don't like anything but good weather. Anytime it's cold or rainy (and it does get cold it winter)they scurry through the streets snarling, underdressed.
