i was in a restaurant a while ago and saw about 8 people who looked to be all the same family across several generations with a young downs man ... and he was just part of the group. my kid is 5 and typically developing as they say. i nearly cry with gratitude when i see others less fortunate than she is. i don't know how people find the courage to do what they do. i admire them

I have to agree with you. I have a new co-worker from Mongolia and have thought about the old term for Downs, "Mongoloid" in this context.
