I was disappointed Stewart didn't swing for the fences re: Hagee, too--but he'd been hammering home that bit for the past week-ish. I thought he made up for it, though with his "I'm not saying [a McCain-Clinton ticket] would necessarily be something I would like, but..." velvet fist to the balls.

I just watched this. Did anyone notice how he played the story of the woman at the "town hall meeting" who accused him of "discriminating against women"? He played it as a joke, like she was nuts or something, but I think it might've been a pro-choicer confronting him.

@moff: I, too, was disappointed it wasn't about McCain's actual pastor. Too bad Stewart's #1 job is to get an audience laugh every 30 seconds, not to get his guests to actually answer anything.

I couldn't bring myself to vote for him, but I still have a ton of respect for this guy. He's endured hardships most of us couldn't even comprehend, and made it through with the necessary faculties intact.

Having said that, he has some pretty fuckin wacko plans, and is about as charismatic as an individually wraped piece of American cheese. (seriously, I want to punch the guy that gave it that name right in the nose.
