I think its more of a technical issue as opposed to middle-aged vanity. He was so pale he disappeared on screen like that kid from Powder. They needed to see his head more, so hence the darker do.

i just really need everyone to know that i went to school with his son and he is a modern-age douche, i.e. his shirts are always half-unbuttoned to reveal his limited chest hair and metal dogtags (why?) and he bound across the room to light cigarettes in his eager attempt to be a gentleman.

I feel like I might look like that in about 15 years, so I'm just going to note for the record that Chris may have a subversive, i.e., probably gay--and if Chris is getting his hair cut and colored in or around Washington, vaguely politically aware--"colorist." So here is my two cents. If I were you, Chris, I would tone down the unreconstructed Catholic schoolyard, Maureen Dowd-infused takedowns of our Democratic nominee for president and pull back on the weird hero-worship of chickenhawk Republicans. In some deep, dark corner of that narrow mind of yours, you may someday be able to recognize the fact that you are actually an unbearably pompous, misogynistic, homophobic gasbag who has been tragically blindered by his so-called faith and "superstar" career in politics and the media. But even if that blessed day doesn't come to pass, do you really want to show off that big glossy brain of yours under that tragic dye job? The choice is yours.
