I actually had to stop a puppy from throwing her entire flower arrangement, water and all (yes, just like Jessica Simpson) in the trash at work. I've had to empty trash cans for minimum wage, and liquid in there is a misery. They have no concern about how their actions affect anyone else, as long as they get what they want. Because I took a few slacking years post-college, I get to compete against them for jobs now, and somehow having a brain and a work ethic makes me "overqualified."

Then he stops going. When he runs out of money (usually a week to two later) he goes back in with a sob story (he has a stock of around 5 of them that he rotates through) to let him keep working. It makes me want to punch him in the throat. Mainly because I know for a fact people have gone to bat for him before and get screwed when he just stops showing up again (one even got fired).

So, just to be clear...I don't think he should be let in.

The helicopter parent problem has been a hot topic at Universities for a while - with parents filling out student's college and schoalrship applications and even doing coursework for their children.

I actually had a parent of a 2007 grad tell me she wanted to go on job interviews with her daughter because her daughter doesn't "sell herself" well enough. "If I could only tell employers how wonderful she is!"
