It is interesting to linguists (and to no one else) that Canadians are not part of this vowel shift despite their proximity. This is probably due to their backwardness.

Anyway, I like the way she talks. I know people hate it. And they hate Kathy Griffin's accent too. But there are some very nice people with that accent you know...

Okay. I hate the way I sound. I've even thought about seeing a dialect coach about it. Instead I just stopped giving talks. Or going out in public.
