In general, I think comics would do better on television than on the big screen. Given the production values of top end TV, the work could be ground-breaking.

Movies are rarely as good as the books because the movie is constrained to at the most three hours. Books can take an evening or take weeks. During that period of time, people live in the book a bit. The time AFTER reading or viewing when the person gets a chance to think about it or imagine an alternate story and then go back to the source for more fuel is critical. Imagination gets time to grow, which allows it to go to some pretty complex and subtle places.

More time. More intimacy. More complexity.

I'd also like to see the original "Espers" as a series. That could be a lot of fun.
