It also charges up people that support Hillary by making damn certain that she wins.

If anything this DIDN'T need to happen. Just let Obama win on his own and if Hillary wants to drop out let it be because Bill tells her to stop or someone like Al Gore tells her to give it up. She'll only use the MSM to tell her voters that she's not going to give up without a fight just because the press thinks she should give up.

But anyway, Obama didn't need to deliver a knockout blow, because the numbers are already on his side. She needed to show she was still running strong, and I'm sorry, but at the end of the day, a 14-point loss and a 2-point win doesn't do that, no matter what the polls said before the vote happened. And as far as electability goes, the Democratic candidate needs the black vote to carry the general election; one of the nominees has it locked down, and one of them runs a significant risk, I think, of a lot of black voters deciding to sit this one out.

Not a decisive win for Clinton but hardly a knockout blow for Obama. She won 60%+ of white democrats in either state. Obama won 90 and 91% of the AA vote in either state, 61%, 66% self-identifying as 'very liberal'... electability is kind of a gross concept but it at least worth considering...
