<![CDATA[The <i>Times'</i> Stealth Layoffs - Gawker Comments]]> <![CDATA[The <i>Times'</i> Stealth Layoffs - Gawker Comments]]> <![CDATA[The <i>Times'</i> Stealth Layoffs]]> Yeah, after Newsday's cuts a few weeks back Editor John Mancini announced there'd be no layoffs -- ignoring the handful or so of non-union people told to leave and the fact that he had eliminated the job classifications of the entire design department, created two new NON-UNION job categories and made them all reapply. That was another handful of people unceremoniously out the door. (And the union did nothing.)
