Last night, Anderson Cooper spent an hour embarrassing eight 13-year-olds on national television. First in front of each other, and then in front of their parents. Regardless of whatever insight we were supposed to have gleaned from a bunch of pubescent tweeters, at the end of the night, there was really only one takeaway: Anderson Cooper is a narc.
What's it like to be Mitt Romney's neighbor? Pretty shitty, according to a Times article about the candidate's $12 million, three-bedroom house (once occupied by Richard Gere) in the San Diego suburb of La Jolla. For one thing, he is trying to "quadruple the size" of the house, which is annoying to everyone. And for another thing, he is a dick about people smoking pot on the beach:
David Carr's column today is partly about a plan masterminded by Ad Age columnist Simon Dumenco to create, quote, a "Council on Ethical Blogging and Aggregation," which will ostensibly serve as a sort of trade group or (nonbinding) credentialing organization for best practices in the blogosphere. Well-intended, and a bad idea.
