Don't we have enough conservative loudmouth jackasses? Adding a liberal one doesn't cancel them out, we just get more loudmouths.
Lowest common denominator dawg. Capitalism only seeks to lower people's intelligence.
And this is the problem with MSNBC in a nutshell
I wish this weren't at least partially true, but I was yelling "don't be the liberal O'Reilly" at my TV last night as O'Donnell said something stupid.
MSNBC does have one redeeming quality. His name is Chris Hayes.
Despite his hair-trigger temper in his personal life, professionally Alec Baldwin seems to keep that in check. There's no denying his intellect, and he does have a political science degree which qualifies him - much more than many cable news anchors - for such a position.
Maybe, as the timeslot is 10pm once a week on Fridays [memo to MSNBC: time to replay the Friday primetime lineup as you do every other night, as the West Coast deserves a reasonable chance to see them in primetime] he may opt for a more comic look at the week's events. Of course, he probably hasn't got a chance because Bill Maher is on at that exact time and I doubt any of those viewers switch (DVR maybe?).
At the very least, it's one less hour of MSNBC's interminable prison shows.
Will he go on Billo like tirades when guests don't agree with him? Or randomly punch one of the cameramen by mistake. Will his "fat pig" of a daughter be his co-host? This could be worth... nothing.
I'd hate to be a camera operator for Alec Baldwin. What if he gets confused and comes out swinging?
